About
I obtained my Bachelor of Social Science degree, Psychology Honours, and Psychology Masters from the University of Natal, Durban, and qualified as an Educational Psychologist in 1997.
After spending 10 years working in the financial sector in London, I returned to South Africa, focusing my attention on raising my children and establishing and running a small business.
During this time, I made the decision to broaden my skills in the area of psychology so that I could achieve my dream of practicing in the area of clinical psychology. I attended and participated in local and international training programs. These allowed me to update my knowledge base and refine my clinical skills to be able to effectively assess, diagnose, and treat individuals facing various psychological challenges. This additional training also heightened my sense of self-awareness and ability to empathise with clients, enabling me to establish stronger therapeutic alliances, promote trust, and foster a supportive environment for growth and healing.
In 2023, I decided to further my expertise in the world of coaching. I completed the Engeza Organisational and Business Coaching Programme and am working towards my accreditation with the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
My approach
“I draw on a number of therapeutic interventions that are evidence based. My therapeutic style is eclectic and intuitive and is tailored to treat each person as a unique individual which ensures that therapy meets their specific needs.”
